Reply To: Starbucks kosher?

Regarding regular coffee from Starbucks, and the cRc’s opinion to try and avoid it: I heard a shiur a few years ago on the topic. It seems it’s actually a machlokes between the cRc and the OU on whether the plain coffee is ok. The cRc says it’s better to avoid, the OU says it’s perfectly fine. I asked the Rav who we should follow. His response was, “You live on the East coast, not in Chicago, so you should probably follow the OU. Those in Chicago should probably follow the cRc.”
