Piracy is very different from terrorism. Piracy stems from self-interest , while terrorism generally is bad for its members and is willing to destroy them for their cause.

Privateering is like piracy except for being state sanctioned. The part where the privateer is state sanctioned matters more for his own safety than it does for ethics.

Religious Jews who served as pirates or financed pirates are like any other religious Jews in some ways and in other ways like any other pirates.
