Joseph, the question is not could Trump fire Comey but should he have fired him. That is to say, was it a wise decision? I think that it definitely was not as it at least gives the appearance that he was fired because of his investigation of connections to Russia. The fact that Trump called him in violation of DOJ protocols only makes it worse.
