Because children are not competent to make decisions. Do you let your children decide how much candy
they are allowed to eat, whether they have to go to school, when they want to go to bed, etc?
But your argument will be used to OUTLAW Bris Milah and Torah Education.
The Government will say you have no right to decide for the child about Bris Milah or if your child
should be “indoctrinated” in a Religion that teaches “hate” – that Toevah is a Sin.
