I think Yabia makes a really critical point…..historically, the Sephardeshe yiidden were considerably more monolithic and there were fewer schisms as among the Ashkenazim. In one narrow context, I’ve always found myself more welcome as a stranger in a Sephardeshe shul than among Ashkenaz (except perhaps for chabad). Maybe its because there numbers are fewer, but I sense there are fewer instances of splintered shuls among the Sephardishe tzibur where a group feels compelled to start their own minyan because of some disagreement with the Rav or over hashkafah.
