Here in CT the ban went into effect last July 1. It has been an easy adjustment. I keep a bag full of bags in each car and take what I need into the store when I shop.
Thin plastic bags for produce, dairy, meat are still available free in stores, so one doesn’t have to worry about dripping into reusable bags.
Some stores have paper bags available at no charge (Trader Joe’s for example). In Costco or Aldi I just use cardboard boxes to pack up my purchases.
This is no big deal and much better for the environment and our grandchildren’s world
