The great Chasam Sofer envisioned your problems by looking at the word גר ger, a convert. It starts at the third letter of the hebrew alphabet indicating that you don’t start in the beginning. It ends three letters before the ending letter of the hebrew alphabet indicating that you will not be able to accomplish everything. Hard to start and hard to finish.
