I just don’t get the rant. You don’t live in Oregon, and I would guess that your children and the children of your community don’t go to public school. BTW the Oregon DOE suggests teachers take this training, it’s not required, nor has the DOE adopted ethnomathematics. (I don’t even think it goes toward CE credit.)
Yea your rant fascinates me. As an Oregonian, meh. It’s not likely that the DOE will adopt ethnomathematics in the near or distant future. I spent a few years working for the DOE, and I’m guessing due to prior experience this is a new national trend in pedagogy. I’m also guessing that the DOE has gotten some grant money to fund these trainings, that’s their usual SOP.
