Again, I don’t live on the east coast. I do live several degrees (lat) higher than NYC. For a few years I was commuting to work and got on a vanpool at 6am (before sunrise) and I got home after 5pm (well after sunset most winter days. I did not do well without seeing daylight (except through office windows) five days a week.
As to mens prayer times, well we didn’t always have DST or time zones or a means of keeping time, a solution will be found.
