NYC as a whole is a huge cesspool. The rents are ridiculous, the real estate is untouchable and to boot no space you are a shared driveway away. The Yeshivas are overcrowded with a cookie-cutter mentality and there is no sense of community at least in my eyes edited. On the plus side, you can choose 4 pizzerias in a two-block span, tons of bakeries, kosher markets, butchers, etc…but no one wishes you a good Shabbos 9 out of 10 times. edited Travel anywhere, PA, NJ, CT, CA, etc the smaller communities appreciate one another, they are grateful that there is a minyan, etc. B’H I hope to not be living in Brooklyn in 5 years too noisy, too dirty, too crowded full of shmutz, the tattooed and pierced.
sorry about the edits, needed to leave out the more personally directed comments
