Regarding ich bein berliner, interestly enough, he made a mistake and said ich bein ein berliner which apparently has a different meaning. I also believe that his intention was to spread a message of peace. Let’s not forget that the real berliners patrons during WW2 were RockFuhrer and Bush grand father, not Kennedy.
