There were many women who learnt Gemarah, as you point out Bruriah, also the grandmother of the Maharshal, the wife of the Netziv, the wife of Rav Isser Zalman Meltzer and others. I am not saying it is women’s tafkid to to learn Gemarah and i dont encourage my daughters to do so (not that they are inclined to do so in any case), but it should be the worst thing a frum woman does these days… so many frum women are singing and dancing on social media which are public platforms, not dressing tzniusdig, etc being immersed in the goyishe culture and materialism that are of far greater consequences than a woman arguing a bit on the Gemorah.
