My story is that it was between semesters for me (summer sessions for other college people) so Yeshiva was over and I did not have a summer job set up. I come into “Jury Central” with a 1000+ page computer book to keep busy. They finally called my name. The judge gives a brief description of the case. The attorneys start the questions and the plaintiff notices my yarmulke and goes along the line: you study Talmud…the laws are different….would that be a problem? To the average person who is looking to get out, they could have said yes. I saw this as an opportunity to keep busy for half a summer so I said No problem. I believe I was Juror #5. Nothing too exciting happened, but we all got a good education on how to set up an epidural.
