Over a year ago their was a push my some yeshivas in the 5 towns to get access to scholl tax money since the local scholl board is controlled by frum Jews. It quickly stopped when it was pointed out that, once they took money like the public schools, they would be treated just like public schools funded by tax dollars:
1. Their budgets would be public and subject to voterapproval
2. Justas frum Jews could be elected to the school board, even
though their kids don’t attend the public schools, non-jews
and secukar Jews could run for seats on boards of yeshivas.
