Reply To: On A Much 'Light' Er Note

I once addressed someone as “Mr.”so and so.I thought I was actually being super-respectful,because others often referred to him by a nickname(example-Sruly-not the real name).

He said,”You know,you are the ONLY one who calls me Mr.so and so.”

I was taken aback for a minute,but then brilliant me said,”…Sruly?”

His response?”NO.RABBI so and so.”

I think that was our last conversation.
