I also don’t like violent rhetoric. I don’t think it is ok to say a candidate “should be shot”.

I think it fine to use violent words in a non-literal context.

ex. “We are going to massacre them this November”. “We are going to kill this bill”. “We are going to dismember their party”.

Therein lies the difference between Sara Palin and the Democrat congressman I linked.
