when i was in tampa last year motzei pesach my friend and i decided to go to walmart but at 11:30pm the hotel shuttle was not running to take us shopping. so we walked. it was about an hour walk, 3 miles or so a direct route. as we were walking i noticed there were no pedestrians at all at all in the street but there was a helicopter flying above. my friend and i were talking and i kept thinking to myself ain od melvado. we finally got to walmart and we were walking thru the parking lot when i noticed a silver suv in the driveway leading out of the parking lot. my friend was blabbing and idk if she noticed it but i thought it was SUPER SUSPICIOUS!!! but we kept walking, all of a sudden a guy jumps out and tells us to come over to him….i was like no way in heck, i grabbed my friends hand to pull her along and quickened my pace. the guy stayed a distance away and kept saying stop tampa sherriff, i need to ask u girls some questions. finally my friend convinced me to stop. the sherrif asked us a bunch of questions, basically they were looking for two girls and the neighborhood we had walked thru was full of druggies and criminals and us being niave little ny’ers who dont think anyone will mess with us (well i am at least) so bh we took a cab back to the hotel at 2:30am and all was good and we still made our 6 am flights the next day. altho i fell asleep at my desk the next day at work ;))
bh, hashem was really looking out for us!!!
