Wow, I never thought of those ideas. Yes, that does seem like cheating. Strategy would be to choose prizes that are not as popular, so your chances are improved. Or getting there early / late so your card is on top / bottmom of the bin (as if that would matter, but it is a strategy)
Perhaps the auction managment should institute a standardized card, so everyone gets a fair chance.
