I met a guy in college who had a system to avoid having to use his awful Hebrew while in Israel. Whenever someone spoke to him in Hebrew he would say “??? ?? ???? ????? ” and when the Israeli inevitably said “midaber” he would reply “??? ?? ???? ????? ???? “
