IMO, let’s say everything MDG posted is correct and that the opinion of the old man is correct about wheat that it’s Chitah, I see No reason to be Makpid on Vaday Yoshon in America.
The wheat for bread here – Al Pi Rov is Yoshon. And the others, even if they are Chodosh, there is now a third Suffek on top of the Bach’s other two. This Suffek is – are durum wheat, barley and oats from the 5 types of grain (Chameshes Minay Dogon)?
