minyan gal – Bad news can cause stress, but it’s up to the individual to determine how much they can handle. To say noone should ever read news is very wrong. A person’s life is not meant to be stress free. We have spoiled ourselves and our kids beyond any generation before us. It has come to the point we can’t handle if our husband bought the wrong thing in the grocery store. I saw a woman yesterday scream “No”, when her husband asked her to hold the chicken or to put the chicken over her head. If she didn’t want to have anything to do with chickens, why come? You can use money for Kapporos. This post isn’t just about women, in our generation e/o is spoiled. When they get married and want to learn in Kollel they expect s/o to give them a car, a house, etc. Kollel even 20 -25 years ago – people who went to Kollel expected to live in poverty. Publicly saying we shouldn’t be exposed to any bad news helps feed the spoiling of our generation!
