It’s just funny the laymen’s perception of Surgery. Actually, docs and others speak on the phone all the time during a surgery. We have less time to talk when we are other places. Ya -see during a surgery there is a lot of down time and others can take over for you most of the time, so Shmuzing of the wall phone or cell is quite common.
