You are so wrapped up with yourself -you don’t even realize what you posted. I never quoted the book – I made a suggestion how to handle the situation. After you brought down many sites that are afraid to recommend this advice – I posted my source -where I got the idea from.
“It still seems to me that every site says to not do the cut at home – rather leave it to the professionals. Only you – a sole voice says to do it yourself.”
Me and the book, except they added in a disclaimer.
“1) I don’t understand your answer to my very straight forward and simple question – In your medical pracitse – Do you or would you provide medical care (non-emergency) without knowing the medical history of the patient? If someone came to you with an ingrown toenail – without first getting a medical history would you send them home with a copy of readers digest? (a simple yes or no will do).”
Since I have a Gemorrah Kup – I’ll answer the question with a question. Do you think that podiatrists test all their patients before working on an ingrown nail to see if they have hidden diabetes? (A simple yes or no will do.)

Simple because the guy (presumably) or gal decided not to take my advice and instead decided to destroy his liver with drugs and alcohol. Perhaps he didn’t consider it because of all the posters who attacked my advice.
