Poppa -Shadchanim invest so much time and energy into a shidduch. When a couple has been going out for 6-7 dates already and looks like it’s going in a positive direction and is suddenly broken off, it is only right for for them to tell the shadchan why. It is natural for the shadchan to want to know what the reason is. The shadchan is so emotionally invested that they deserve to know why it does not work out. I don’t think it has anything to do with being nosy but it can be helpful if the shadchan wants to set the guy/girl up again. The information can be instrumental in getting it right the next time around. I’d like to believe that most shadchanim would want to know why for the right reasons and not mere curiousity.
