Just one interesting point:
Learning Torah is the greatest thing one can do – greater than Hatzalas Nefashos. How do we know? Mordechai was listed as the greatest person in his dor. After the story of purim, he was moved down to number 4.(I’m not sure if the numbers are accurate but he was definitely moved down a bit on the list) Why was he moved down? Up until the story, he sat and learned all day; he was part of the sanhedrin. While busy with the story of purim, even though he was doing it for the sake of saving Jewry…. he was not learning… so he was no longer as high on the list….
