I think he meant that if he has a limited amount of energy and time, he would invest more into the younger person. I felt guilty for having kept quiet. I wound up seeing him again before anybody responded, so I mentioned it to him and he actually received it well. I don’t know if it had any influence, but I feel better that I didn’t hide my beliefs, thinking someone wouldn’t believe in or agree with me.
