Seems to me that Chachamim knew what they were doing. The Mrs., as smart (she truly was) and devoted as she was, didn’t and couldn’t understand the inestimable great merit and benefit the generation begets by having a Tzadik as such living (or just barely living) in it’s midst. Hence the decree of ?? ????? ??? ?? ????? ????.
