Tikkun Hatzot: What changed perhaps was the entry or re-entry of the bicycle to the standard transportation mix. As it became more popular, and more street intensive, it became more accident prone for both the commuters, and for the kids. I also was a bicycle junkie as kid, and never had, and never saw a critical accident, it was davka when I was 40 when an attempt to avoid an irresponsible motorist went wrong, an I was pitched headfirst into a fence post.
