besalel – I’m not entirely sure that shmendrick was ever benign, some of his posts were just too OTT for that. Trolling does not entail that one is serious about what one posts, most trolls are rarely serious about anything they write. shmendrick might have been being sarcastic, but he was still, IMHO, always a troll from the beginning.
