Let me tell you something, the reason for the protest wasn’t “Option A”.
Read again the very first sentence of the letter linked above and signed by the Gedolim. They specifically list your “Option A” as the reason for the protest. Clearly they hold it is worthwhile to change the goyim’s law against this abomination.
