miritchka – thank you for being so kind, I wasn’t offended, just surprised. I know of so many people it has happened to and I felt bad for people to be thinking of these women as irresponsible. I remember one time needing to rush to the hospital on almost no notice in the middle of the night on Shabbos and by the time I woke my husband up, convinced him that a cab was not an option and waited for him to get dressed, we were almost too late. 2scents – you are right, it is not common, but it is not a rare occurance by any means and saying that it indicates a lack of responsibility was not always the case. I didn’t mean to blow it up, I just meant to clarify that it wasn’t a fair statement.
