I am surprised that no one mentioned Torah or halacha in connection with driving an automobile. A car that is driven improperly – particularly in dense urban areas where many of us YWN readers live – is an instrument of death. The Torah therefore imposes special conditions on driving an automobile. Driving with Chesed is more important than driving with confidence, or getting where you are going on time. Drive as if your life, and the lives of those around your, depends on your driving properly, and you will do fine on your test. And your liability insurance rates will stay low.
