I was really surprised by how few people really think that smoking is muttar. If so, how is it that so many people have no problem refraining from their suicidal addiction when halacha tells them it’s assur to smoke on shabbos?

While Rav Moshe writes in Igros Moshe ??”? ?”? ??’ ?”? that being that the chance of getting sick from smoking is only a ??? ???? it’s muttar to smoke if your addicted. Today, after it has been proven that smoking kills most smokers, Rav Reuven Feinstein and others have said hold that Rav Moshe’s psak is clearly not applicable.

My question now is: how can we turn the above stated fact, that smoking is assur, into the strong mainstream opinion?
