Ive met Chilonim in Europe as well (I had a hat on) and when I spoke to them in Hebrew they asked where I learned it and I told them I was Dati and they still spoke to me and kept telling me how much I need to come to Israel and what a beautiful place it is. And they were surprised to find a jew who speaks hebrew in Europe and they were happy.
