rational- i dont wanna get involved, but i would propose that the zionism of the 1800s and early 1900s is indeed dead, and the people living and learning in israel (at least the frumme) dont have a zionist agenda. honestly, lapid is the closest thing to a zionist, and I wouldnt want to be on his team.
