No one is saying that we should condone gay people having affairs. But what is wrong with them going public? It may help them to get chizuk from others, and they can’t get chizuk if no one knows about their struggles. I imagine there are many closeted gay frum people who feel alone and drowning. No one can help them if they don’t speak about about it. Furthermore, if one person goes public, others who are still closeted may get chizuk just from knowing there is someone else out there who is battling the same thing.
