havesomeseichel- we had a very similar story. Purim is not an opportunity to look like goyim
On another note: girls dressing up as boys and vise versa. Sometimes it’s funny…. and sometimes it’s not.
My sister’s friend did it one Purim. Went over to my father to “collect”- my father naturally wanted to shake hands and lean over to hear a d’var torah… was a pretty close call (she was wearing a beketcha so was all “tzniyusdig”)
Then…. I once saw some guy hugging a girl in the middle of the street. The guy looked completely drunk so I really wasn’t sure WHAT was goin down… well, I went to have a closer look, and witnessed the wig coming off in the process of the hug.
Another story- a girl was dressed as a chassidish boy and was walking along. A group of drunk boys grab her/him and start dancing. You’ve never seen someone that panic stricken in your life…
