Tomorrow will be a special day. As we accepted the Torah in unity, Hashem accepted us as his chosen nation.
ואתם תהיו לי ממלכת כהנים וגוי קדוש you will be a kingdom of ministers and a holy nation. A talmid chochom mamzer will rule over the priest am haaretz.

The Chudushei Harim explains that the snake was cursed by providing it its food and telling it, here is your food and don’t bother Me. We should thank Hashem that he wants our service, wants us to pray to Him for our sustenance and He does not push us away from Him. ‘הללוי-ה הללו את ה we praise Hashem for being able to praise Him.

    Reb eliezer,

I wonder if the snake is grateful for this curse and prays to Hashem that way

יום המיוחס also came out on Memorial Day in 2006, 2009, as does so this year.
It is also 2nd time within 1 year, having ראש-חודש on Sunday, and next Monday, a legal Holiday, as this past Labor Day came out the day after Sunday ראש-חודש אלול.

Hilel prayed ברוך ה’ יום יום he wanted to thank Hashem day by day for not getting his food at once and thanking only once as his prayer is not appreciated every day. The snake was cursed by receiving its food for its lifetime and not having to ask Hashem anymore. This is the meaning of tefila where Hashem desires our tefila every day.

    Dear 147
I live in Israel, where the second day of Sivan is simply יום המיוחס , the second day of Sivan. I didn’t know that HKBH rules the world according to the national holidays of the United States of America.

My son was in America for a while, and a prominent Rav asked him when Tu B’shvat comes out this year. My son answered “on Tu B’shvat, what do you mean?” How sad that Jews in America have become more Jewish Americans than Jews in America.

The response to you rational is, that on legal holidays there is a plethora of Shiurim & Torah learning, and hence thanks to these legal holidays, there is an upsurge in amount of Torah study transpiring on these days, hence:- so apropos for יום-המיוחס; Same apply to Britons this year, albeit Canadians had to work on יום-המיוחס.

That’s interesting, no mention was made of the “plethora of Torah shiurim” on Memorial Day.
I assume that since working people had the day off, they spent the day of Yom Hameyuchas learning Torah. I assume they do the same every Sunday, which is also a day off. I wasn’t aware that every Sunday there is an upsurge in Torah Learning. But if there is, that’s wonderful. God Bless America.

The Chasam Sofer explains that goyim were also offered to accept the Torah but we were given the Oral Law. the Torah shebaal peh to be able to understand the Torah shebeksav, the Written Law.

interesting – check with people running learnign websites whether they get more visitors by day of the week and holidays. Frankly, with WFH, there is no excuse to have same amount of learning and work all days of the work week. I am organizing kids to use Sunday, legal holidays and vacations as “catch up time”, questioning what religion they belong to when they attempt to fully “take off” yom rishon – while providing plenty of non-learning time on other days.

My pshat is in the 6th Perek of Avos the 8th mishna has eight words, hano, hakoach, vehakovad etc which is teaching us the importance of humility, to know how to use these properly as explained by the Binah Leitim.

We can learn from tomorrow, that if we do the right thing by accepting the Torah in unity, then Hashem will reward us by accepting us as his nation and children.
