You have got to be kidding! First of all, I know that I, for one, said hi to you every time you posted. So if you are calling me no one – ouch.
Secondly, what are you talking about? Your birthday thread was answered by many people. And whoever the important people are that you consider someone, well many of them aren’t on anymore so they can’t be faulted for not rolling out the red carpet.

I have realized that the reason I post here might be due to wanting to get an ego boost
And what is wrong with an ego boost? Humans naturally look to other humans for approval, and it feels good to be liked and respected. That is natural and normal, and I’m not aware of anything wrong with it.
The mussar seforim discuss using this midda in good ways, and discuss suppressing it when it is harmful. I don’t see how this is a harmful way.
It gets harmful when one spends too much time here.
popa – he didn’t say there was something wrong with it. He said he posts for an ego boost which is why he won’t bother posting if he isn’t gonna get responses.
Interestingly enough, upon rereading the post, I think it can be read both ways.
and here i didnt ask for a bracha cuz i felt wrong to, not ‘knowing’ you here even. For the record, some posters get numerous replies because they are controversial or people feel the need to defend themselves. That kinda attention isnt desirable. Much better to be popular in a positive light but get a few less responses. Hope you’ll stay…
