I’ve been thinking for a while about making aliya, and there are SO many factors going into the decision.
How does one figure which town/neighborhood to live?
I’m also wondering about creating a new network of friends and employers.
And leaving others behind.
In the back of my mind is the question, what if it doesn’t work out?
The packing itself makes me want to back off sometimes!
Where does one begin?

If your single then you will probably end up in Yershulayim. There is a great website out there called Janglo.net its a networking site, for jobs, furniture, apts. If you have children where you live is going to depend on the type of schools your looking for.
Speak to NBN/ also if you can make a pilot trip if you have children so that you can find the right type of school for them. Good Luck!!!

It might look like its for you, and end up being a disaster.
By trying it out for a few months you will get the feel and see if its for you.

They have lots of information about different communities, and lots of other topics. They also sponsor “Aliyah fairs” in different locations throughout the U.S. where you can get a lot of information in one place.
Once you are seriously considering the move, and have narrowed it down to a few areas, a pilot trip can also be very helpful.
Talking to people you know, who know you, who have “been there, done that” is also a great resource.
Good Luck!!

In Israel there is something called Proteczia where “friends” help you as a Oleh Hasah you dont have that, so AACI helps you there, they give you advice as you seek
