First I would like to say that as a person who people define as “Dati Leumi” (I like to just see myself as a Jew living in Eretz Yisrael) I am absolutely opposed to allowing the Reform and Conservative movements any foothold in the State of Israel. Thew creation of this “prayer area” is tragic as it marks the official recognition of the Reform and Conservative movements by the State of Israel. Furthermore the State will provide them with Sifrei Torah and upkeep the area.

With that said I find it funny that both the Charedim and the Reform are fighting over the Kotel. Its kind of like if a father would give his son a very expensive gift. The Child takes out the gift and starts to play with the box. In walks his mentally ill brother and becomes jealous that the healthy son gets to play with the box and they both begin to fight over the box. Meanwhile the evil cousin comes in and starts to destroy the expensive gift that the father bought the son, but both the healthy and retarded child are to busy fighting over the box to realize what is happening.

I am sure you now understand this story is an allegory for what is happening on Har HaBayit. The healthy Jews (Haredim) have thrown away Har HaBayit (the gift)and are now fighting over the box (the Kotel) with the retarded brother(The Reform). Meanwhile our evil cousin (the Arabs) are desecrating the precious present (Har HaBayit) are we are still fighting over who will control the box The Kotel).

It seems we have all become the retarded brother.

We are as healty as all our Torah Leaders want us to be. To hope for the Har Habayis, to revere its kedushah by not treading on its holy soil, but to stand respectfully at the closest proximity permissible and daven. Reverently, sanctily to HaSHem. For the true geulah. For the true Mikdash.

    No, we are not retarded.

He might mean we do not take advantage of the Kotel. More people should make the effort to visit the Kotel more often. It shows that we have “ha’karos ha’tov”. Our ancestors never got the chance to even glimpse at the Kotel. For us it is accessible.

You all should be inscribed in the book of life.

I wish he wrote so, it doesn’t appear like he had that in mind.

Oh Shreck: I thought he meant letting the Waqf control Har Habayis for dozens of years and allowing them to attempt to remove any shred of evidence that Jews were ever there.

Hmm. He can’t mean that we don’t visit har habayis, since that is assur.

He can’t mean that we don’t visit the kosel, since we do, and that is in fact part of his moshol.

He can’t mean that we let the Waqf destroy archeological evidence, since his moshol is that we are too busy with the box. Besides, what mitzva is there to have archeological evidence?

He must mean that we don’t throw rocks from har habayis at people davening.

Reform people are not retarded. And even if someone is “retarded”, the politically correct term is mentally deficiant.

If someone (a non-Jew!) dares to drive a car down the street in some parts of Israel on Shabbos, people scream “SHABBOS!!!” and throw rocks at the car. They claim it’s to protect the kedusha of Shabbos. Yet a non-Jew has no chiyuv to keep Shabbos, and the land doesn’t need the non-Jew to keep it.

The Har HaBayis has kedusha within it, even when the Beis HaMikdash is not built. The Muslims build their mosques there and fill the area with their tumah. The Har HaBayis is holy, and yet we stand by idly while this happens to it! We should be ashamed of ourselves!

I personally have written letters to and spoken to Knessset ministers about the Har HaBayis. I’ve urged them to take control away from the Waqf and return it to Jewish control. I was laughed at.

Perhaps the Waqf having control of har habayis is a blessing in disguise. If the Jews controlled it, then Jews might walk on areas that we are not allowed to.

Let’s not kid ourselves people. If the Jews regained control of Har habayis, could we keep the peace there? How about we prove ourselves in our ability to get along now with the small bit Hashem has left us; The Kotel. Maybe if we can get along for the sake of Hashem’s Wall, He might be convinced we’re ready for the whole thing…
