This has been echoing in my head all day. Are we? How could we be?

    #1133802

How could we not be? Are trying, really trying, to follow Hashems will in the most challenging circumstances? Yes.

    #1133803

    Yes we are.

When you compare us to the nations of the world we certainly are. What more do we need to do to be the children Avrohom Avinu dreamed of?

If I am the child that Avraham was dreaming of, he must have been having one really bad nightmare.

Don’t know, but I am trying…that counts, right?

Think about this: Anyone who has done Mila properly (& didn’t ruin it with boail aramis, w/o proper teshuva) Avraham stands at the gates of Gehinom and defends him. Would he defend someone he’s not proud of?

HaleiVi & Wolfish Musings; (From opposite ends of the perspective. Hal.. feeling that he’s doing too much for the sake of Hashem. WolfMu feels that his efforts aren’t good enough.) We (Klal Yisrael) are the best that was and will ever exist. “Umi K’Amcha Yiasrael Goy Echad”. B”H Avraham Avinu is not disappointed in Klal Yisrael. Just one little episode of our uniqueness. (In spite of our individual shortcomings.) I witnessed a scene on 13th. Ave., in Boro Park. The NYC Marshal’s goons were about to tow someone’s car for allegedly unpaid parking tickets. They demanded $500.00. In less than Ten Minutes, the car owner put the entire amount together, from strangers. (Yidden.). The other end of the equation, everyone can figure out for themselves.

I once heard something to that effect. In Amidah we say ????? ???? ???? ?????. Who is the children, who are the children’s children. I can’t remember this piece offhand.

We are a great nation, a nation to be proud of. We try, don’t give up. Are given the hardest nisyonas, and we still believe in the one Avrohom did. Can you find another nation Avrohom should have chosen?

Albert Einstein said that if he can meet one person from history, he would want to meet Moshe Rabbeinu and ask him if he thought that after 3000 years his people would still follow his laws.

Haleivi; I’m no Albert Einstein. (I didn’t discover the theory of Relativity and then give simplistic, humorous explanations about it.) It is said about him that towards the end of his life he declared that all of his Scientific inquiries led him to believe in Hashem. (Even though the Sefer ???? ?????? states that everyone is obligated to do inquiries and critical analysis about the existence and presence of Hashem, I took a shortcut. “Emunah P’shutah”. Simply, believing and trusting in Hashem.) But, if I had a chance to meet some Historic person or persons, I’d like to meet the Avos and Imahos. I think they would have quite a few stories to tell that would keep you at the edge of your seat.

considering that the Yishmaelim are his other children, we probably look pretty good.

    WOW

    Some question.

And I think the answer is, NO. He could not have dreamed of us, four/five thousand years down the line, mostly in exile, persecution, slavery, ??? ???? ???? ??????, and all galus has to offer, we should be so loyal the the Creator he came to know. How could he dream of Channa the tzadekes – ??? ????? ????? ??? ???? ????? ????, the other times of Shmad when K’hilos by the thousands gave up their lives. As we said yesterday, they told their children ?? ????? ?????? ????? ??????? ????? ?????? ????? ???? ?????. Could he have dreamed of that?

Us, however, as individuals, no, each one must strive for ??? ????? ???? ????? ?????. Which means to slightly “touch” upon, those of the Avos. That’s the best we could hope for, it’s quite ludicrous to attempt to actually measure up to the Avos haKedoshim.

Hashem created the world for the Jews, for us to make a Kiddush Hashem and chose us to be His one chosen nation. So why did He make us the minority in the world?

In the Akeida story, God told Avraham to take his son, the one that he loves. Avraham didn’t know which one of his sons God was talking about because he loved them both. So God had to specify Yitzchok. I believe Avraham will not be content until all his children love each other as much as he loved them.

Zev7, nice sentiment, but there’s no reason to believe that what you believe is true.

I don’t know if A Einstein really wondered about that, HaLeivi (is Haleivi still here these days?), but surely Moshe Rabbeinu would not be surprised as he believed the Havtacha that the Torah will not be forgotten.

the true children of Avraham Avinu.would:

1)do anything to NEVER make a chillul Hashem at whatever price it cost, do you know what it means to Desecrate YOUR G-DS holy name?

2)have cried out long ago as a nation together doing teshuva & begging Hashem to take them back & accept their teshuva so that we should be ready for Mashiach. what are we waiting for? why have we not done teshuva so all the tzaros in klal yisroel can come to a halt & mashiach can come? EVERYONE IS LACKING IN A MAJOR PROBLEM CALLED “FACING REALITY” i.e. admitting to Hashem openly that we are in need of teshuva.

3)would have done anything to make yiddishkeit so sweet that there would not be any-reform, conservative etc….-brother jews. Yiddishkeit should be so sweet that every yid on all levels should love it. there would not be any Sinas Chinam, no crazy NK people etc…

Can we please take this thread seriously? I’m really looking for an answer.

Bishvili nivra haolam– bishval raishis. Who is raishis? Bnei Yisroel.

Wolfish: because that’s the setting that works best for us. As stated in the Torah: ?? ??? ????. And in Navi ?? ??? ???? ???. Until Mashiach comes that’s the way we are supposed to go about coming to our Shleimus. (Rabbi Miller expounds on this greatly)

HashemisReading: Yes, because of Yidden, and of Torah. (as in tefilas haShl”a) HaShem wanted a place where His Torah could be practiced out in Gashmius form. Malachim, he’s got aplenty, they don’t have yetzros, no one intervenes as they go about doing their job. It’s us down here where HaShem so to speak places His focus, His intrest. It’s us mortal little beings, who have a mighty entity confusing our minds, who have quite an avodah choosing right from wrong, and following through. We are the reason for creation.

Sorry for waxing on the profound…

    MA:

I see you’re again in Attack Mode. So in the name of K’lal Yisroel (yep they sent Little me, couldn’t find anyone else as a shliach) to contest your condescending, haughty, scornful, disdainful attitude towards US. Yeah, we know who’s the one who comes ranting at every misfortune that should not befall us chas v’sholom, the one who comforts us with another slap at every opportunity he finds convenient.

I have a niggling feeling Mashiach DID NOT SEND YOU to rage, roar, yell, rail, shout at any given (random) time in the Coffee Room. Scratch that… it’s not a feeling… say I just got a nevuah. I just got a nevuah that you’re not a navi.

If you really mean what you write… quit posting here anonymously, get a pulpit and let your voice be heard loud in public. Nevi’im did not post anonymously!!! Neither did anyone who wanted his words heeded. Posting here time and again makes you one bigoted, scornful, condescending individual.

As for your rants (over and over) (and over and over)

    1) Who’s making a chilul HaShem. Did you see me?!? What are you complaining about (of course in the name of HaShem!)

    2) No one is crying out to HaShem?!? What are you talking about?!? Have you been in the innermost recesses of everyone’s thoughts and minds constantly? OK? Read what I wrote earlier (different s/n) how we held on, and continue to do so regardless of what history has places before us or ON us. Maybe that will soften mighty YOU up a bit.

3)No one is going to find YiddishKite sweet the way you fume at every occasion.

The answer probably depends on your Girsa in Rashi Al HaTorah. And even then, some things would certainly be very surprising.
