I have two girls under 7 years old. I have read that certain games on a computer system can help attention defeceit. Can anyone advise which handheld DS games would be good? Ex. No killing, so immoral behavior, and no incinuation of perversion.

    thanks

If ADHD is a real thing then use real remedies (Aderrall etc.). I’ve never understood the mentality of legitimizing the label without legitimizing the solution.

Without getting politically involved, I would have to say that few things will feed into the ADHD like video games. Never heard of a DS game that would help. There are some computer games that may be more therapeutic than detrimental but they usually avoid them like the plague.

Brain Games is great. But you would have to get them to play . . .

I don’t want to mix in to your business but I hope you took your kids to more than one doctor. I recently heard a radio show about add kids and the speaker was saying that many kids are misdiagnosed and one should at the minimum get a second opinion. He also said that if kids don’t get enough or quality sleep and if they dknt get proper nutrition and are vitamin deficient it can lead to add like symptoms. First make sure your kids have add. Then throw out the darn nintendo because its sso damaging. Kids should read and do creative things not sit like morons with a nintendo. These devices are creating zombie like dummies.

While I empathize with families whose children have ADD, I am really sick and tired of NO consideration, NO studies of, and NO medical and moral support for ADULTS with ADD and for their spouses and children. My wife has ADD, and my reactions to her behavior before we knew what she was dealing with almost destroyed our marriage. While we’ve both learned more about ADD, and I’ve learned to help us both work around the issues that can result from it it’s been a lot of try, and fail, and try again. SOMEBODY OUT THERE: Get your act together and start working with the ADULTS!

    I second that, too

The correlation you’re insinuating here is not necessarily true. Video games do not necessarily “create zombie like [sic] dummies”.

Sigh. Another baseless blanket statement. I’m curious, have you ever played any games?

There’s plenty of info about this on the internet. Google the folloeing to read someones article about her personal experience with her kids.

PBT- i agree with you, a great fear i have is that when i get older how i will deal with things and how my ADHD will affect my life, and future family I”YH. and while the adults def need to have things for them,it is improtant for something to be for kids, because people make fun of it all the time(yes adults do all the time as well) and they dont know what they are saying or understand add or adhd, and neither do some kids who have it and its a very sad situation!

Get the jumpstart computer software. It is endorsed by Torah U’Mesorah. I know from personal experience as one of their original guinea pigs that my life was changed in many ways because I used it.
