    In his latest television ad de Blasio is being praised by a young black man with a huge afro, he is exalting the candidate and at the commercials end he reveals de Blasio is his dad, Why didnt he just reveal that at the ads start i wonder?

    Because it wouldn’t have the impact. Many people don’t know who his wife is.

    Of course, politicians have always used their families to boost their standing with the public. If Nixon and Kennedy had swapped families, Nixon would have won the 1960 election.

    1) Who cares?

    2) What does it matter when it is revealed in the ad? As yehudayona points out, it has impact at the end. Its an artistic/effectiveness choice.

    Yehudayona, If Johnson hadn’t stolen Texas for Kennedy, Nixon WOULD have won. The 1960 election was crooked as a redneck smile.
