I would like to know from our fellow CR members, the savy shoppers and everyone else, for the best deals and places to shop this upcoming Black Friday.

This is for others as well as myself. If you have any good ideas,

please list the article type, and the location, e.g.

    Menswear, mens suits, barneys, location,

    Womens coats, burlingtons, location.

This is a big mitzvah, if anyone of you can help someone else save a few bucks.

    Thanking you all in advance,

    b_h

I personally am interested in better menswear, suits, shirts, shoes, etc.

What I meant to say was is there anyone who last year etc..

on black fri found a certain store to be a good place to find cheap shoes, or coats, etc.. wanted some insider scoops, feedback,

not how to put a search in google. Thanks though dunno, for your help.

Try Macy’s. We got a lot of stuff there, shoes and clothing (womens). Don’t know about the coats but would not be surprised if they were on sale. But anyway it is worth looking online for coupons, they really help bring the price down!!

There are some online stores that are having major sales, so you can shop online from the comfort of your home, save, not get trampled, and not have to leave ur house at 5 am!!

    Electronics, Laptop, Best Buy.

Best Buy announced that they will have one additional doorbuster available in-store only. The new doorbuster is a HP 15.6″ Laptop with Intel Celeron Processor, 2GB Memory, 160GB Hard Drive, and Windows 7 for $197. There will be a minimum of 5 per store and limit 1 per customer.

mybat, you can still buy a turkey, and shop online, unless you feel that the

main part of the black fri sales is the pushing. 🙂

There is a similar concept in the gemarah.

Its not worth it to buy online, the delivery comes out too much to mexico. 🙂

mybat, why not ship it to a friend and have them come visit you,

or family member who comes often to mexico. If you know of any that is.

Seriously, I would avoid the BF sales and instead look for online specials. There is an h1n1 epidemic, and high unemployment means that the risk of being pickpocketed in a crowded store is higher as well.

Besides, I always used to wait until the end of their holidays, in fact well into January and really score bargains at the 70 – 80% off level on very good schoire that was super-reduced for the end of the season.

I don’t think its a good idea to go shopping on Erev Shabbos especialy on the short Fridays. Friday shopping should be only LeKuved Shabbos like food flowers nosh etc special for Shabbos only.

Pardon my ignorance, I have been living in Eretz Yisrael for twenty years, I do not recall the name Black Friday from my days in the USA, in fact it is only this year that I came across it in web publications. It was always known simply as “the Friday after Thanksgiving” or “Thanksgiving Friday”, when did they start calling it Black Friday and why? Did some tragedy happen then? Is it somehow related to Black September?

    #669055

Black means it is good for business and takes their accounts out of the red and into the black (positive balances are written in black ink, negative balances are written in red ink)

many of the best deals now in deptartment stores, as they have serious messes

due to the eager crowds, so they take the shirts, that the packaging got opened up a little, the ties that are loose or lost their label, dump them on tables,

with tags of 50% off plus an additional 25% off.

Macy’s is a great example. So grab your wallet & cards, and go get some Metzias!

    Happy hunting!
