What are your plans for Chanukah?
To light the Menorah.
to light the menorah for eight nights, adding a new one for each day.

It seems we have a consensus here. May I add that in addition to lighting my menorah I intend to eat sufganiyot. (Had a sneak preview the other day. You can’t get sufganiyot that good anywhere else in the world.)
what about latkes? sufganiot? gelt for the kiddies? a few games of draydel?
I would invite President Obama and his family, along with Prime Minister Netanyahu and his family. Maybe I would also invite King Abdullah and Mahmoud Abbas,if they were free. We could have a nice chat over latkes and Macabee beer.

ok, maybe I would have them come to my house a few days before Chanukah, so I could suggest some better choices for menorah lighter.
I would not invite any of your proposed menorah lighters. Though I am usually very open-minded, and believe in hospitality, I have alerted Hamas that none of their members are welcome at my house at any time, under any circumstances. Same to leaders of “evil axis” countries. I have to draw the line somewhere.

I think that for Chanukah, Barack Saddam Hussein Obama will visit Nidal Malik Hasan (if he has not peygered by then) and the two will light an electric menorah (with green lights to symbolize Islam) at Hasan YMS’s bedside.
Last time I checked, Mahmoud Abbas YMS is a leader of an evil axis entity (albeit not a country). He is also a Shoah denier who never repudiated his thesis or dissertation or whatever he wrote denying the Shoah. So, if you invite him, invite David Irving YMS as well.
Back on topice, plans for Chanukah…I hope to make a chanukah supper for my family and invite some realtives to share the light!
Did anyone here see that video of last years Chanukah in the white house with the Kol Zimra choir and the menorah lighting??? I thought it was really beautiful- a true friend to the Jewish nation…George- we miss you!
I think the Hazkeni Voices would be an appropriate choice to sing Haneros Hallelu at the White House this year.

Paging YW Moderator-99, how many sufganiyot are you going to eat this Chanuka? And how long will you spend on the couch afterwords?
I think Mod 99 is still on the couch from last year’s sufganiyot. He should wake up right before chanuka.
I wish I was still sleeping.
We will have to see. I’m going out of town for Shabbos Chanuka so lets see what they got!

I’d say “start cleaning for Pesach” to be original, but I gotta be honest..
So I guess same old latkes, parties, dreidel,
anyone know about a good latkes recipe?
4 potatoes
1 medium onion
1 tablespoon flour
1 egg
oil
Grate the potatoes and onion. Mix with the egg and the flour. Fry in oil.
Oops! Forgot the salt and pepper to taste.
Mmm haifagirl! But isn’t chanuka like in 3 weeks?

My plans for Chanukah 5770 was acknowledging the fact that that was the last time for 17 years that having 2 Shabbosos Chanukah, and my plan for Chanukah 5773 is acknowledging the fact that this is the 1st time in 20 years that having 2 Chanukah Motzei Shabbos.
