mods why are you being so selfish? how come we wait an hour for our posts and you just wait to seconds. Huh?
Ours go straight up instantly. You just didn’t refresh fast enough to see it. -95
The worst part is when a mod is busy posting while not modding the pending stuff.
And what’s even worse, is when they finally do approve the pending stuff, it appears above their own posts which people already read causing some people to not read the regular posters older posts since they already read the mods newer posts and assume they already read everything above it.
At least if a mod posts in a thread, with their posts going up immediately, they should first approve (or decline) any pending posts made before them.
I hear. The thing is, that maybe sometimes they just log on quickly and post without even looking at the queue. It is a different part of the site.
I usually read through the threads before checking for new posts if I haven’t been on in awhile. Once I am reading, I will often comment on the thread and only check the new posts after. Otherwise, it is hard to know what the new posts are referring to.
If they plan to post without modding the pending stuff, perhaps an idea is to post under a non-mod screen name so it doesn’t go up immediately and mess up readers keeping track of where they are up to in a thread.
On rare occasion if I notice a lot of pending posts I will mark my post as pending after posting so that it won’t go up until the rest are approved/deleted
So can the mods commit to either clear the queue of pending posts up to the time they make any new posts (as a mod) or alternatively either not post if they are not ready to clear the queue or post under a non-mod screen name?
Whoever is on duty right now doesn’t seem to like me. He (she?) is approving post that came in after mine.
Don’t make me go into the mods’ lounge and do something nasty.

Mod 80, I see the Brooklyn- Jerusalem thread was closed, so I’ll post here. It was NOT yossi2468 who berated me, it was someone else. I think the thread it was on is closed now, anyway. And it doesn’t matter, I forgive the person who did it. There were good intentions in what was said, even if it could have been said in a nicer way.

Yout said on a different thread that we should try making things easier for others. If you believe in what you preach then please stop correcting everyone’s spelling and grammar mistakes. Its very unpleasant and seems to be annoying many members. If you feel that you enjoy grammar why don’t you get your kicks by perusing a grammar website and use this website as it was intended.
You can also start a thread about grammar if it pleases you. Just please stop correcting everyone’s grammar. We don’t like it and don’t want the corrections. Everyone seems to understand each other just fine regardless of a few minor grammar or spelling indiscretions. Please kindly allow us to make our mistakes in peace.

the rule is if the mods don’t understand it, it’s not english. Ergo if they do, then they deem it as english and it’s acceptable.

I just want to add that those who make frequent spelling, grammar and usage mistakes don’t understand how to use English that well in the first place. Therefore any attempt at correcting them is useless as they won’t get it. Especially a grammar or usage mistake. For those of you who absolutely insist on correcting others, if you really care about the person making the mistake you will explain why its a mistake and teach them about that particular topic so they will understand how to avoid that mistake in the future. If you can’t be bothered to impart of your knowledge and actually help the person you are correcting then all you are doing is showing off that you know English better than the person you corrected. In that case your correction is a nauseating nuisance that you can keep to yourself.
