I’m sure almost everyone knows the song (or the idea mentioned in it) Daddy Dear, which says that Hashem has a cup that collects all the tears we cry. When it’s full, Mashiach will come.
Is there a source for this? Is it brought down in a Midrash? Or was it something invented that just sounds nice, but has no real basis?
BTW, this may include all the sweat and shvitz from dressing with tznius during the warmer weather.
Dont know about moshiach coming when the cup is full. Thats a new one on me. But the concept of Hashem keeping our tears comes from tehillim 56:9 and is mentioned in selichos of “Hashem Hashem”.
