i heard that there are people that have a minhag not to eat pickled meat on rosh hashana. is the minhag for aseres yemei teshuvah too? what is the reason for this minhag? is it a chassidish minhag?

I thought there is a Minhag not to eat anything pickled because pickling produces a sour-ish flavor.

If the meat has a sweet taste then its fine. We don’t eat pickles or foods with viniger that have a bitter or sour taste. This applies only on rosh hashana and not aseres yemai teshuvah.

I know we don’t eat pickles, olives, hot peppers, horseradish or anything sour/sharp flavored until Shmini Atzeres. No pickled meat?? never heard that, but like sam2 said, maybe bec of the sour flavor

BaalHabooze; where did u see this minhag or anything sharp?

I’m aware of not cooking with Vinegar or using, but anything sharp?

Can’t use garlic or black pepper? where did u see this mentioned?
