i do not see any cons except that you will be away from family, which is not a con in most cirucmstances.

If you are not being supporter.. It’s almost an impossibility. If you are and your parents are on board and willing to help… Ahh do it!

    Pros:

    Its in Israel.

    There is extra Kedusha here.

You get to learn how to take on additional responsibilities that you haven’t taken on before.

    Separation from parents.

    Learning Torah.

Easier access to shiurim and rabbis who live here in Israel.

Easier to get to the Kosel.

    Cons:

    It is a big step.

    Takes time to adjust.

Its hard to be away from your family.

    Homesickness.

    Missing family.

Takes time to become familiar with Israel.

Overall, it is a great experience. You get to learn a ton of stuff. I have grown so much here in ways I would not have grown if I stayed in the states. You should totally do it!

Not to be a complete cynic.. (Kol Hakovod to those who are doing it!) But answers like “Kedusha!” and “Grow!” sound kinda fluffy to me. I think the main concern is the (duh!) money. You have a boost of support when u first get married. A year or 3 down the line, starting from scratch in America can be very hard.
